Electric Vehicles

Actual Example: Eliica – Designed from the Ground Up to Embody Three Key Values

Eliica, short for “electric lithium ion battery car,” is a large passenger vehicle. By further improving previously-developed electric vehicle technology, we have been able to create a safer-running car. It is about the same size as an S-class Mercedes-Benz.
When people see a new vehicle, the first thing they ask about is the top speed. Until now, electric vehicles have been regarded as poorly performing and impractical. To turn that perception around, we decided to create a high-speed car and aimed for a top speed of 400 km/h. The result was a vehicle capable of travelling at 370 km/h.

Motor output is approximately 100 hp per unit. Eight motors supply 800 hp.

Acceleration is one of Eliica’s key features. It accelerates from a standing start to around 90 km/h at a G-force of 0.68, in other words 0.68 times the acceleration of a falling object. Eliica has been developed with the support of 38 private companies.
