Environmental Issues and Next-Generation Energy Systems
We must find ways to avert the threat of global warming and deal with dwindling oil resources.
Discovering radical solutions to these problems and enabling the world’s seven billion people to live prosperous and fulfilling lives is a major issue for the 21st century.
Industrialized nations enjoy the benefits of ample energy and technologies driven by it; the best way of banishing hunger, controlling the population explosion and creating a world free from disputes is to ensure that everyone on the planet can share in such resources.

Halving global CO2 allows just 2 t-CO2 of emissions per capita on average. For Japan, this means an 80% reduction.
