Electric power storage lithium-ion battery used in Eliica was fairly technically completed in 2002. This battery doubtlessly has high quality and because the resource is infinite, there will be no environment disruption. Defection such as battery life and charging time has vastly improved. Today, we are continuing our pursuit of this battery for further development.
As working through all the difficulties, the most difficult problem is that the price of the battery is too expensive for mass-dissemination.
Fortunately, there are other usages except for electric vehicles. This battery has an extreme capacity for electric power storage to save energy and for electricity backup.
To make the most of L-square project, its usage range and demand will be dramatically be larger. Consequently, we could solve environmental problem and ensure societyfs safety and security. Also by mass-production, battery prices will drop considerably.
With these ideas, 10 companies and organization that use and produce lithium-ion battery began a project to utilize and produce massively. And this is the L-square project.
For projectfs succession, standardization of lithium-ion battery is necessary. To standardize lithium-ion batteries, we needed to develop batteries and use them in various areas, to decide specification as a result of practical usage.
This standardization is operated under the budget from 2005 Technology Promotion Adjustment Cost by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology.

Panels written detailed information about L-square project will be displayed in Keio University Booth. Please come and take a closer look.

"L-square project" is supported through the cooperation of many partnerships.
